DAY 1 Leave Amsterdam to visit the windmill village of the Zaanse Schans, stop for a short walking tour to picturesque Edam - famous during the 18th Century for its cheese - have lunch in Enkhuizen at its interesting Zuiderzee Museum - cross the Enkhuizerdijk to Oosterbeek (near Arnhem).

Day 2 Visit the Kroller Muller Museum (Hoge Veluwe), famous for its Van Gogh's collection continue to Gouda, Holland's prettiest Market Square, short walking tour and lunch time. Drive to the Hague - city tour by passing by the Parliament, the Queen's Working Palace, the International Court of Justice etc. End in Scheveningen at your hotel.

Day 3 Via Rotterdam drive on the spectacular dams of the Delta Works (built to protect Zeeland from the floods of the North Sea). Lunch stop at Middelburg, ancient medieval city. Continue to beautiful Bruges where we have a walking tour and a boat ride. Overnight in Bruges.

Day 4 Leave for Ghent, short walking tour and time for lunch. City Sightseeing tour in Brussels + short walking tour. Overnight in Brussels.

Day 5 Drive to Antwerp + short walking tour - continue to Amsterdam.

Here are a few suggestions:

All Tours start in AMSTERDAM/HOLLAND or BRUSSELS/BELGIUM*

a) After passing through Belgium and its Highlights we continue to Paris passing by Lille, Amiens (famous for its cathedral) ,then to Giverny (Monet's Gardens), Versailles Gardens etc.

b) Passing through Belgium we continue to Normandy passing by Amiens (famous for its cathedral), Rouen (Jane of Arc) Caen WW II museum up to Bayeux and the DD Beaches, coming back through the beautiful flower town of Honfleur back to Brussels airport or to Amsterdam airport.

c) Passing through Belgium and its Highlights , we continue to Lisieux - St Malo - Mt St Michel - to Brittany (eventually continue to Paris, passing by Chartres (oldest cathedral)

d) Passing through Thorn - the white village - continuing to Maastricht (Southern Netherlands) - the beautiful browsing city, have a tasty Bourgondian meal in one of their good restaurants - have a walk on their old city ramparts - visit the St Pieterberg Quaries, where the Dutch hid Rembrandt's famous painting "the Nightwatch" during World War II. Continue to Luxemburg (Switzerland of the North), daily excursions to Echternach, Diekirch etc. from there on to Paris or back to Holland.

 

You can add and change the itinerary according to your own wishes. e.g. add WW I sites to the programme or visit the Loire Castles - Mont Saint Michel etc.
